Degree Overview
The MSc Education Leadership and Management (top-up) is designed for students who can demonstrate attainment of 120 credits at Level 7 through an RPCL (Recognition of Prior Certificated Learning) process, and in exceptional cases, through an APEL (Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning) process. The programme will allow students to top-up their existing diploma level qualification and or exceptionally, equivalent experience, to an MSc. The students will learn in a stimulating active blended learning environment that values critical appraisal and reflective practice. Learning in the modules will be constructed to consider theory in practice allowing students to draw on their current practice to develop a practical, evidence-based approach to leadership in education. Students will be taught online using a combination of lectures, seminars, and discussion groups to facilitate learning. Students will be asked to engage with module resources prior to sessions to facilitate problem solving discussions that draw on research, professional experiences, and reflection on practice.
Study Reasons
- Graduates are already employed as senior leaders in schools and this top-up will enhance their status as they move to be headteachers or to take senior positions in academy trusts or in local authority/government posts.
