Language Requirements
German
These are our requirements for German language proficiency:
• DSH examination (Level 2)
• TestDaF (TDN 4 in all sub-tests; if one sub-test has a score of 3, it may be compensated by a 5 in another, with at least 20 points total)
• Goethe Certificate C1 or C2 (minimum grade 2)
• telc C1 or C2 (minimum grade 2)
• telc C1 Hochschule
• KMK language diploma (Level II), also known as DSD II
• University preparatory course examination, German part
Other Requirements
A relevant portfolio is required.
Three MP3 Tracks
Please upload the following MP3s with your application:

Track 1: A freely chosen fragment, such as an electronically produced music track, a sound logo, or a production (e.g., a band or artist) that you have post-processed technically.

Track 2: An electronically produced composition. Genre is free. The focus is on melodic and harmonic elements. The following are not allowed:

Classic remixes

Medleys

Use of vocal stems

Use of pre-produced loops that aren’t clearly and creatively transformed

Exclusively sample-based work without sound synthesis or synthesizer use

Track 3: A soundscape. Create a sonic environment that surrounds a person in a real or fictional place. Choose a meaningful title for the audio file.
Please compile the three audio tracks in the order above in MP3 format and additionally submit a one-page informal PDF describing your tracks.

Overview
Creating electronic music, designing sounds, acoustically enhancing visuals – that’s your world. In the B.A. Audio Design program, you will learn how to shape the world through sounds, noises, and speech – from blockbuster soundtracks to electric vehicle sound design.
Designed sound surrounds us in nearly every area of life. In the B.A. Audio Design program, you will explore the physical properties of sound and learn how to technically design and manipulate it. You will produce soundtracks for various media such as films, animations, and video games, examine the powerful effects of sound in different environments, and become familiar with the entire acoustic communication chain – from the sound source to the recipient.
