Requirements

Admission requirements
  • Applicants must fulfill the requirements of both the Graduate College and W. P. Carey.
  • Applicants are eligible to apply to the program if they have earned a bachelor's or master's degree in business or a related field from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 (scale is 4.00 = "A") in the last 60 hours of their first bachelor's degree program, or applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 (scale is 4.00 = "A") in an applicable master's degree program.

Applicants are required to submit:

  3. short answer questions
  4. one letter of recommendation
  5. professional resume
  6. written statement
  7. proof of English proficiency

Additional Admission Information

An applicant whose native language is not English must provide proof of English proficiency (TOEFL 80 (no band below 20) (IELTS 6.5 at least 6.0 in all skills)) regardless of their current residency.

The letter of recommendation should comment on the student's motivation, commitment, achievements, work experience and opportunity for success in the program.

STEM-OPT for international students on F-1 visas

This program may be eligible for an Optional Practical Training extension for up to 24 months. This OPT work authorization period may help international students gain skills and experience in the U.S. Those interested in an OPT extension should review ASU degrees that qualify for the STEM-OPT extension at ASU's International Students and Scholars Center website.

The OPT extension only applies to students on an F-1 visa and does not apply to students completing a degree through ASU Online.

Students in the MS program in artificial intelligence in business develop technical AI and professional skills needed for success in the constantly evolving landscape of technology and business. With an emphasis on mindful implementation, students learn to understand the implications and possibilities enabled by AI, in addition to the importance of governance and principled innovation. Anchored in the triad of Mindful AI: business domain knowledge, technical understanding and ethical awareness, this program aims to cultivate a highly skilled workforce proficient in thoughtfully applying AI across various industries and sectors. The demand for AI professionals is expected to grow as more companies invest in AI technologies to improve their operations and customer experiences. Students can prepare to meet this demand with dedicated resources and career coaching from the W. P. Carey Career Services Center.
