Admissions Requirements
Applicants to the program are evaluated based on information in the application and accompanying materials. Of primary importance in determining an applicant’s suitability for admission are the high school and/or college academic record and entrance exam (TEAS, HESI A2, or NEX) scores. Applicant’s character, personality, and contribution to school and community life are also factors considered for admission.
Admission to the program is highly competitive and on a selective basis. Meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee admission.
Minimum GPA
The minimum required college GPA is 2.75. For those without college coursework, a minimum required high school cumulative average of 85% is required. You will need to send all transcripts to Touro University from the issuing institution.
Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) Policy
All students interested in the nursing program at Touro University must take an entrance exam. We recommend the TEAS examination. Students must achieve minimum composite score of 70% on the overall TEAS exam. Students must take the following four (4) sections of the TEAS exam:

Program Overview & Accreditation
Is the nursing program accredited (ACEN, CCNE, or state board)?
The Associate in Applied Science (AAS) in Nursing program is fully accredited by the New York State Board of Regents and recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. Graduates of this program may sit for the NCLEX exam (National Council Licensure Examination) and qualify to become Registered Nurses (RN).
How long is the program, and can it be completed full-time or part-time?
This program is designed as a full-time, five-semester course of study. Depending on the track selected, students typically complete the program within 18 to 24 months.
What degrees or pathways are offered (ADN, BSN, RN-to-BSN, etc.)?
We offer an Associate in Applied Science in Nursing (AAS in Nursing), commonly known as an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
Additionally, in collaboration with Touro’s School of Health Sciences, we provide a joint pathway option that enables students to begin coursework toward their Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) while completing the associate degree. This pathway allows students to expedite the completion of their BSN following graduation from the ADN program.
