Requirements

Environmental Technician admission requirements
Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent, or mature student status
Grade 12 English (C or U)
Grade 12 Mathematics (C or U)
Mature students, non-secondary school applicants (19 years or older), and home school applicants may also be considered for admission. Eligibility may be met by applicants who have taken equivalent courses, upgrading, completed their GED, and equivalency testing.

English Language Requirements:

IELTS (International English Language Testing System Academic): 6.0 overall band score, with no band lower than 6.0
CAEL (Canadian Academic English Language Test): Minimum overall score of 60
PTE (Pearson Test of English Academic): Minimum overall score of 60
TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language iBT): Minimum overall score of 83

Program description
In the Environmental Technician program, you gain the experience and skills required to enter the workforce as an entry-level practitioner who has the ability to use environmental sampling, monitoring and testing equipment, and information technology tools. You become familiar with standard operating procedures for conducting environmental projects. As you progress through this program, you build applied knowledge of health, safety, and environmental legislative requirements, environmental management systems, and the basic principles of ecosystem-based management for sustainability. With a focus on experiential learning, you gain hands-on experience through fieldwork opportunities and prepare for entry into a range of positions as you undertake industry-related certifications.

Bursaries
• International Bursary for Political Unrest (IBPU)
Georgian College has established a bursary for eligible international students that are experiencing unexpected financial burdens, due to political or financial unrest in their home country. The bursary will be applied as a payment toward any outstanding balance with the college, or as a deposit toward the following semester's tuition (if applicable).
• You must be an international Georgian student.
• You must be enrolled full-time in the current academic term that you're applying in and be in good standing.
• You must have unexpected financial need because of political or financial unrest in their home country.

• Food: $250 to $400 per month (groceries and eating out)
• Transportation: $100 to $150 per month (public transportation or bike rental)
• Mobile phone and internet: $70 to $100 per month
• Miscellaneous expenses (entertainment, clothing, textbooks, etc.): $200 to $400 per month
