Requirements

If English is not your first language or you have not previously studied in English, our usual requirement is the equivalent of an International English Language Testing System (IELTS Academic Test) score of 6.5, with not less than 6.0 in each of the sub-tests. We also accept other English language tests.

Additional information

Our BA Film and Media Practice introduces you to the academic study of film, television, screenwriting and digital media, with an emphasis on developing your creative skills in a range of practice-oriented modules.

You will combine practical work and critical thinking in your experience and understanding of:

filmmaking
television production and transmedia
screenwriting
digital media design and editing.
Through a range of practical exercises you will learn new skills in image and sound editing, in developing script projects and digital media strategies, while enhancing your writing, research and presentation skills as a creative professional.

The degree will equip you with core knowledge and practice-based skills for work in film and media organisations, and in the creative industries. You will learn how technology, business and human creativity have forged our contemporary media world, and will be challenged to engage critically and imaginatively with a wide variety of film/media forms and styles from around the world and from different historical periods.
