Degree Overview

Do you hold a bachelor’s degree and want to be qualified as a secondary school teacher? This Master of Secondary Teaching degree is designed to help you make that transition and can be completed over eighteen months of full-time study (2yr FTE). Once completed, you will be qualified to teach Years 7 to 12.

We have designed this degree program so that you can combine your studies with existing work and family commitments. Most of the classes at our Broadway site are taught in the evenings or on weekends. Like all the Education degrees offered by The University of Notre Dame Australia, the Master of Secondary Education has a strong practical teaching component. In this degree, you will spend a total of 14 weeks gaining in-the-classroom experience.

The degree gives you the option of selecting one or teaching areas to pursue and allows for electives and the possibility of a specialisation in an area such as Inclusive Education amongst others.
