Degree Overview
Are you passionate about providing care for children from birth to adolescence? On our BSc Children’s Nursing, you’ll develop the expert knowledge and advanced practical skills to provide excellent care for children, young people and their families. Our unique programme highlights the vital importance of community and primary care in nursing, as well as the importance of placing equal value on both the physical and mental health of children. You will study subjects across nursing, as well as specific modules on children’s nursing. You’ll learn the importance of person-centred care, the principles of caring for children and young people, and understand how to provide complex and critical care for children. With a focus on community and primary care, you will learn how to deliver care in a wide variety of settings, including GPs' practices, schools and outreach work. This course is taught in our specialist facilities at Croydon University Centre, based in East Croydon. Here, you’ll be taught in our brand new Clinical Simulation Centre (CSC) – a state-of-the-art teaching space with GP practice rooms, simulated home and community environments and a fully functioning hospital ward. You will also have access to the facilities on our main campus, in south-west London, as well as Roehampton's online and in-person study and careers support services.
