Admission Requirements

To study for a bachelor's degree at CBS University of Applied Sciences, you generally need a general higher education entrance qualification (Abitur) or a university of applied sciences entrance qualification . A subject-specific university degree may also be recognized depending on the program. The exact requirements vary depending on the federal state and program . Equivalent qualifications from foreign schools are recognized accordingly. Comparable qualifications include, for example, the Matura, A-Levels, the General Certificate of Education, or the IB Diploma.

English Requirements

To study in an English-taught bachelor's program, proof of sufficient language skills is required. This can be demonstrated through recognized language certificates such as the TOEFL (at least 83 points ), IELTS (at least 6.5 ), or the Cambridge Certificate (at least B2 or C1 , depending on the program). Alternatively, an English-taught school education or previously completed studies in English can serve as proof. Those unsure whether their language skills meet the requirements can seek advice from CBS or take an internal language test .

• If you have successfully completed twelve years of schooling and can prove that you have a university entrance qualification in your home country , you meet the educational requirements to apply for Prep4University .
• Applicants whose native language is not English must provide evidence of their language skills with a recognized certificate . The minimum requirements are an IELTS certificate with an overall score of at least 6.0 or a TOEFL iBT with a minimum score of 72. If English was the language of instruction at your previous school, a corresponding certificate from the school may be accepted as sufficient.
• Applicants whose native language is not German require proof of language skills at least at level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
• Please submit your school leaving certificate with transcripts , a copy of your passport , a letter of motivation , a CV , and proof of your language skills . Please note that only documents in German or English can be reviewed.
